Men’s Soccer Falls in Season Finale to Charlotte

PHILADELPHIA– The Temple men's soccer team (4-9-3, 1-7-1 AAC) fell to Charlotte (9-4-2, 3-4-2 AAC) 5-1 Wednesday night. Temple honored ten seniors, Fridtjof Andberg, Andrew Burkhardt, Mike Eijgendaal, Eoin Gawronski, Fabian Grant, Sean Karani, Yann Kouemi, Elyad Shojaei, Chaim Roserie, and Lawrence Kwazema.
How it Happened
> Temple keeper Gawronski started out hot, with three saves to open the match.
> Charlotte scored twice to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
> Charlotte scored three times between the 17th and 26th minute.
> The Owls come out firing in the second half, with shots on target from Karani and Kouemi.
> Charlotte scored two more times in the 55th and 60th minute to extend the lead.
> Roserie scored the lone goal for the Cherry and White on a fastbreak. He was assisted by Karani and freshman George Medill.
> Charlotte scored once more to put the final tally at 5-1.
Game Notes
> Freshman Guy Panzner made his first career start and recorded his first full 90.
> Seven of the ten seniors saw action tonight.
> Eight cards were pulled in the match. Five on Charlotte and three on Temple.
