Men’s Tennis Triumphs Over Navy, 4-3

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Temple men's tennis (5-3) defeated Navy (16-5) in a tight matchup on Saturday morning. The Midshipmen are coming off a successful 2021 campaign, where they claimed the Patriot League Championship and advanced to the first round of the NCAA tournament. The loss to Temple serves as their third home loss of the season.

The Owls will return to action tomorrow, Mar. 13 as they take on William & Mary. The match is set for 12 p.m. in Williamsburg, Va.

- The Owls started out with a set win from Hussein El Tawil and Louis Gorregues in the No. 3 doubles spot, but the No. 1 and No. 2 pairs for the Owls fell shortly after to enter singles at a disadvantage.
- The Cherry and White wasted no time as they entered singles play, claiming four points, starting with Thibault Frumholz in the No. 5 position, followed by Gregoire Barety at No. 3, Tawil at No. 6 and Jericho Grollman at No. 4.
- The Owls fell in a tiebreak fashion in the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, but their overall singles performance was just enough to edge the Midshipmen, 4-3.
