Women’s Tennis Set to Host FDU Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA – After a three-match last week, Temple women's tennis (4-2) is set to return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 9 as they host FDU (2-5) at the Cherry Hill Racquet Club. The matchup between the Owls and the Knights is set to kick off at 11:30 a.m.

The Owls

The Owls advanced to 4-2 on the season after a 2-1 showing last week. The Cherry and White started the week off at home, sweeping Monmouth, 7-0 before heading down to Florida for a two-match trip. Temple fell to FAU, 4-0 on Saturday before defeating nationally ranked NAIA competitor, Keiser (No.2), 5-2 on Sunday morning.
Freshman Veronika Kulhava has headlined the Owls success this season in singles play, posting a perfect 5-0 record, including a 3-0 performance from the No. 1 spot, as well as 1-0 performances from the No. 2 and No 4 position.
Evie Wei and Sena Takebe have shown to be a consistent duo in doubles play, securing a 4-0 record as a pair, with one win from the No. 1 spot and three wins from the No. 2 position.

Scouting the Knights

The Knights have posted a 2-5 record, entering the match on a two-match losing streak, falling most recently to Bryant, 6-1 and Navy, 7-0.
FDU picked up a dominant win over Hofstra on Feb. 10, defeating the Pride, 6-1 for the Knights first win of the season.
The Knights second win of the season came in a competitive matchup against Towson on Feb. 26, where the Knights edged the Tigers, 4-3. The Knights earned the double point early, which ultimately earned them the win after singles play resulted in an even 3-3 split.
Last year, the Knights advanced to the NEC Semifinal game but dropped to second-seeded Bryant, 4-1.
