Nicolai Earns Midfielder of the Week, Roth Named to AAC Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas- After defeating East Carolina Saturday 15-10, Quinn Nicolai has been awarded AAC Midfielder of the Week, while Mackenzie Roth has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll. This marks the third time this season Nicolai has earned an AAC Weekly Honor and the second time she has won Midfielder of the Week. For Roth, it is the fourth time she has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll this season and her second straight week on the Honor Roll.
Nicolai tied for the game-high in goals with five in Temple's 15-10 win over East Carolina. Nicolai spearheaded the Temple comeback. The Owls were down 6-0 in the first quarter, Nicolai's goals included the first two Temple scores of the game to cut into the ECU lead and begin the rally. She also scored the first three of the second half, which tied the match at eight. She is fifth in the American in goals per game (3.07). Nicolai passed for an assist and picked up a ground ball.
Roth scored two goals and tied for the game-high with three assists. All three of her assists came on the last three goals of the game. This is her third straight game with multiple assists. She is second in the American in both assists (32) and assists per game (2.29). Roth is now tied for the third most single season assists in Temple history.
Temple next hits the road for the de facto conference regular season title game against No. 10 Florida. The noon matchup will be streamed on the Florida Gators YouTube channel.
