2V8 Takes Bronze, Women's Rowing Finishes Fourth at AAC Championships

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The Temple women's rowing team earned a fourth-place finish at the AAC Championships Sunday morning, led by the 2V8 boat who took home bronze.

SMU claimed their second-straight conference title, sweeping all four events and earning 168 points. UCF finished as the runner-up for the second year in a row and totaled 144 points. Tulsa placed third with 104 points. Temple was fourth with 104 points as well, but the Golden Hurricane earned the tiebreaker by placement in the Varsity 8. Sacramento State was fifth with 76 points, while Old Dominion was sixth with 52 points.

Recapping the Day
> The Owls opened the day with a third-place finish in the 2V4 (8:18.049).
> Temple was fourth in the first scored race of the day, with the V4 boat finishing with a time of 8:04.234.
> The 2V8 boat claimed bronze with a time of 7:00.381, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the fourth-place boat.
> The Cherry and White finished fourth in the V8 (6:54.852) in the final race of the day.

Awards
> Three Owls earned All-Conference honors, with Nadia Bangura being named First-Team while Elaine Tierney and Gemma Wollenschlaeger were both named Second-Team.
