Football Announces Kickoff Times for Four Games

PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference announced the starting kickoff times for the first week of the 2022 season, along with several primetime and nationally-televised contests. Among the announcements were four Temple matchups, including the season opener against Duke.
The Owls will begin the season at Duke with an ACC Network prime-time broadcast of its opening day game on Friday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. That game will mark the debut of Stan Drayton as Temple's head coach.
The following week, Temple returns to Lincoln Financial Field for three consecutive home games. On Saturday, September 10, the Owls will host Lafayette. The next week, the Owls take on Rutgers on Saturday, September 17. ESPN+ will broadcast both games with kickoff times still TBD. The Owls conclude the month with a home game against UMass on Saturday, September 24. Broadcast information and kickoff time are still TBD.
Following a road game against Memphis and an early October bye, Temple will play three straight nationally televised games. On Thursday, October 13 they play at UCF. The game will air on ESPN with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff time. The next week the Owls play a Friday night contest at the Linc against Tulsa. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. and air on ESPN2. Temple will conclude this run of nationally televised tilts with a bout against Navy. That game will kickoff on Saturday, October 29 at 3:30 p.m. and air on CBS Sports Network.
Temple's remaining kickoffs and networks will be announced during the season under the traditional 12-day selection process.
Drayton has been busy this offseason reshaping the roster. His February recruiting class saw the addition of size, length, and speed from a host of incoming freshmen. Temple also enters 2022 with no fewer than a dozen incoming transfers with FBS experience who expect to contribute right away.
That influx of talent, along with an aggressive style of play in all three phases of the team expected from Drayton's new staff, have fans excited about a promising 2022 season.
