Business and Administration Staff Announces New Hire, Promotion

PHILADELPHIA - Tim Thiess, Executive Senior Associate AD/Finance and Administration, has announced the promotion of Corey Fortunato to Associate Director of Administration as well as the addition of Jessica Dietz as a Financial Analyst.Â
"This is a great opportunity to recognize Corey for his hard work and dedication to Temple," Thiess said. "Corey is a valuable member of our team and our department. I am confident that he will quickly establish himself an asset to our teams and department as a whole in his new role."
After spending the last three years as a Business Operations Coordinator, Fortunato will now serve as the primary human resources contact for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in his new role.
"I want to extend a special thank you to Arthur Johnson, Tim Thiess, and Jessica Reo for trusting me with the opportunity to serve in this capacity," Fortunato said. "I look forward to continuing to be an asset to our Administration, Coaches, Student-Athletes, and Philadelphia Community. Go Owls!"
Dietz comes to Temple from Ernst & Young where she worked on the assurance staff performing external audit and assurance service for organizations while working with audit strategy development and tracking audit progression.
"I am very excited to a join the Temple Athletics department and work as part of the Athletics Business Office to support our teams, student-athletes and fans," Dietz said. "I want to thank Tim Thiess, Dennis Hawkins, and the rest of the hiring committee. Fight, fight, fight for the Cherry and White!"
"I am excited to welcome Jess to our Temple Athletics family," Thiess said. "The experience and passion she brings to Temple will prove to be a vital asset to all of our teams and our department."
Before starting her professional career, Dietz earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Ohio State University in 2017 and her master's degree in recreation and sport management from the University of Tennessee in 2019. She also earned her CPA in the state of Maryland by the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy.
