ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Jahlil White had his second consecutive double-double to open the season as the Temple men's basketball team won its second in a row to start the year, a 75-68 win against Navy

BY THE NUMBERS

Jahlil White tallied a career-high 21 in the game and had a team best 10 boards.
Hysier Miller scored 15. He also had five rebounds and a career-high five steals.
Matteo Picarelli connected on four three-pointers in the game, scoring 17.
The Owls connected on 10 threes in the game, their most since February 22 against Cincinnati.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Temple went on the attack from beyond the arc early, starting 3-for-6 from distance, opening an 11-7 lead just more than five minutes into the contest. TU continued to expand the lead, as a Jordan Riley offensive rebound and putback followed by a Miller steal and score extended the advantage to its largest of the night to that point at 21-12 with 10:42 left in the opening stanza.
The Midshipmen battled back, pulling to within five on a couple of occasions in the closing minutes of the half, but Temple closed the frame strong, using a 10-0 run to take a 41-26 lead into intermission.
In the early portion of the second half, it looked like things would go much the same way as the first as White posted four quick points, but Navy clawed its way into the contest with a 13-5 run that sliced the lead to 56-50 with 10:15 remaining.
The game remained close throughout the rest of the half, but the Owls held the Midshipmen at arm's length and closed the game at the line.
