Temple Adds 23 Players on National Signing Day

12.19.23 | Football

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Owls signed their second full recruiting class under head coach Stan Drayton today adding 23 student-athletes to the roster.

Drayton was named the Temple head coach on December 15, 2021, which was National Signing Day two years ago. He supplemented that class with several signees a few months later and added his first full class a year ago.

This time around, Drayton was able to add a mix of eight high school recruits and eight Junior College transfers. He supplemented that group with seven transfer portal players. Experience was an important factor as the class added three seniors, 10 juniors and two sophomores.

While seven came from Temple's footprint of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the DMV, Drayton also recruited hard in high school hotbeds such as California (four), Florida (one), Georgia (three), and Texas (one). There were also two international players - from (Germany and Sweden).

Improvement on each side of the ball was addressed with eight selections on the offense and 14 dedicated to the defense.
