Football to Host Homecoming Game on October 7
4.13.23 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – Temple University announced today that the annual Homecoming and Family weekend will take place from October 2-8 highlighted by the Saturday, October 7 game against the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Owls look to enhance their homecoming record, having played exceptionally well for nearly two decades in front of a large and supportive crowd. Temple holds a 14-3 record over the last 17 homecoming games, winning 12 of the last 14, and four of the last five. That includes a 10-2 record in conference matchups – UTSA will be playing in its inaugural American Athletic Conference season. The games have been exciting as well with nine decided by one score, including back-to-back wins in 2018-19 over nationally ranked Top 25 teams. The 2018 squad beat #20 Cincinnati in overtime, 24-17, and the 2019 team outlasted #23 Memphis, 30-28.
The off-the-field events expect to be exciting as well. While still early, the University is planning for Arts Friday (Art Market and Mosaic Concert), family weekend, and a tailgate village at the football game. More details will be announced by the University throughout the summer.
