MERCER N.J.- Temple Men's Crew battled #19 Georgetown, #17 Holy Cross, and Marist on Sunday afternoon at the Caspersen Rowing Center in Mercer N.J. The Owls were met with two ranked opponents from the latest IRCA/IRA Men's Varsity Eight polls in what was the biggest test for Temple so far in this spring season.

RACE RESULTS

>The 16th-ranked Varsity Eight boat finished third in the race behind Georgetown and Holy Cross. The Owls finished with a time of 5:58.76, beating out fourth-place Marist by nearly ten seconds.
>Temple's Second Varsity Eight defeated all three opponents coming in first place with a final time of 5:59.08 beating out second place Holy Cross by nearly three seconds.
>In the Third Varsity Eight race, the Owls Freshman Eight defeated Holy Cross and Temple's 3V8 boat finishing with a time of 6:15.01. Temple's 3V8 boat finished at 6:20.48 in third place.
>The Owls defeated Holy Cross in the Fourth Varsity Eight race, by nearly 10 seconds with a final time of 6:18.09.

"As a team we had a really good day but unfortunately, our flagship fell down today. A lot of our guys fought through some adversity this week but we look forward to getting back to it in two weeks at the Bergen Cup." said Head Coach Brian Perkins.

NEXT UP

The Owls' will return to action Apr. 29 at the Bergen Cup City Championships in Philadelphia.
