PHILADELPHIA - Chris Clark, who has served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Temple University since 2016, will return for an eighth season as a member of Adam Fisher's staff.  Clark is the second assistant coach named to Fisher's staff, joining associate head coach Michael Huger.

"I have known Chris a long time. He is a tremendous person and coach, who has played and coached here.  He loves Temple and I am so happy he will be a part of our staff," said Fisher. "He is also so great with people and when I was looking at who I wanted to have on my staff I kept coming back to Chris Clark.  His family values align with mine.  Our players love him, and I need his energy and passion on our staff.  I am so glad to have Chris, Sharena, Caysen, Chase, CrisMonae and Camorie be a part of the Temple family."

"I am so grateful to remain a part of Temple Basketball as a member of Coach Fisher's staff," said Clark.  "I know Adam and share his vision for Temple Basketball. I look forward to working with him and the rest of our staff to return the program to postseason success."

A 2008 Temple grad where he played under both legendary Hall of Fame Temple coach John Chaney and Dunphy, Clark has been on the Owls' staff a total of eight seasons, one as the video coordinator during the 2015-16 season and the previous seven as an assistant coach on Dunphy's (2016-19) and Aaron McKie's staffs (2019-23).

During his six seasons as an Owl assistant, Clark has been one of the team's top recruiters.  Among the top players he has recruited to Temple are all-AAC honoree Damian Dunn, and all-AAC freshman honorees Jahlil White and Zach Hicks and current starting point guard Hysier Miller.

Prior to his return to Temple, Clark served two seasons as assistant head coach at Campbell University.  He spent two seasons at Campbell (2013-15) as well as four seasons (2009-13) as an assistant coach at St. Francis (Pa.).   At St. Francis, he helped lead the program to program to two consecutive Northeast Conference tournament appearances.  He also served as the program's associate head coach his final season.

A four-year member of the Owls (2004-08) as a player, Clark had a breakout senior season while serving as team captain.  The Philadelphia native (St. Joseph's Prep HS) led the Owls in three-point percentage (57-137, .416) and helped lead Temple to a 21-13 record and the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship as the team's sixth man. Named the 2008 Philadelphia Big 5 Most Improved Player, he increased his scoring average from 2.6 points per game as a junior to 7.5 points per game as a senior.

Clark also has an extensive resume of community service. He has been a Big Brother Program volunteer, a Reading for Children volunteer, and has done community service at the Carousel House in Philadelphia. Additionally, he has volunteered with Midtown Parish United Methodist Church, Temple Rollin Owls Basketball League, and Cherry Hill's Martin Luther King Day.

He and his wife, Sharena, have three sons, Caysen, Chase, Camorie, and a daughter CrisMonae.
