Temple Owls Take Manhattan

NEW YORK - Forty-eight student-athletes from 10 sports participated in the Owls Take Manhattan event on April 28. During the day, student-athletes had the opportunity to network and gain professional development from a panel of seven professionals from different disciplines. Headlining the panel were Douglas Maine of Brown Brothers & Harriman Co. as well as Temple women's basketball coach Diane Richardson.
In addition to Maine and Richardson, the Owls also heard from John H. Austin (iMask Intelligence), Martin Bawden (Deutsch NY), Sahara Gipson (Google), Michael Kauffman (Clio Music and Clio Cannabis), and Jack Wolf (Generation Health IT Solutions). Gipson is a former Temple gymnast who graduated in 2018, while Maine, Kauffman, and Austin are also Temple alums.
Following the panel and networking session, the student-athletes toured the World Trade Center site before a session at the Adobe Systems Office. While at Adobe, the Owls toured the office, had a discussion on branding and its importance to student-athletes, participated in a hands-on Adobe Express workshop, and learned about potential opportunities at Adobe.
