Men's Crew Travels to the Cooper River for the Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The winningest program in Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta history, Temple men's crew will look to build upon its rich history at the premier rowing championship this Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13. This year's regatta will be held for the first time on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. as the Dad Vail Regatta Organizing Committee changed racing venues to ensure all competitors are afforded a safe and fair racing opportunity during Schuylkill River dredging at the National Racecourse site.
The Owls will field seven entries in the regatta and will be hoping to capture its second Men's Points Trophy and record 23rd Varsity 8 championship.
The Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta will be live streamed so spectators will be able to follow the action at the most prestigious intercollegiate rowing event in the country. The live stream can be viewed here.
"We are super excited for the 2023 Dad Vail Regatta," said head coach Brian Perkins. "It's an "away race" for the first time ever, but our squad travels well and we have familiarity with the course. I'm looking forward to the crews executing and enjoying the rewards for almost a year of hard work.
It will be tough racing to be sure, but Temple Crew is poised to make a big step this year."
For Friday, races start at 8 am with time trials with the afternoon featuring semifinal heats. The grand finals will be held on Saturday.
