Owls in the NFL: Week 3

PHILADELPHIA- Week 3 in the NFL consisted of some matchups between former Owls' teammates, a shockingly high scoring game, and a couple of firsts of the season for some teams. 

Jacob Martin (2014-17) and the Indianapolis Colts beat the Baltimore Ravens and Rock Ya-Sin (2018), 22-19, in an overtime thriller. Ya-Sin recorded one tackle. 

Michael Dogbe (2014-18) and the Houston Texans beat former Owls' Brandon McManus (2009-12), Christian Braswell (2018-20) and AFC South division rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, 37-17, in their first victory of the season. McManus scored five points (1 FG, 2 PATs). 

Wide Receiver Robbie Chosen (2011-13, 2015) and the Miami Dolphins beat the Denver Broncos, 70-20, scoring the most points by a single team in the NFL since 1966. Chosen had one 68-yard reception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. 

Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) were able to lead the Buffalo Bills to a commanding 37-3 victory over the Washington Commanders. The Bills offense had 35 minutes of possession and gained over 350 yards. Matakevich continued his work on special teams. 

Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) and the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Detroit Lions, 20-6. Ebiketie recorded one tackle. Earlier in the week, Michael Niese (2020-21) joined the Detroit Lions' practice squad. 

Keith Kirkwood (2014-17) and the New Orleans Saints lost their first game of the season, 18-17, to the Green Bay Packers. Kirkwood had one target in this game, but no receptions. 

Sam Franklin (2016-19) and the Carolina Panthers lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 37-27. Franklin recorded five tackles and one pass defended. 

On Monday night, Haason Reddick (2013-16) and the Philadelphia Eagles beat former Owl, Buccaneers' head coach Todd Bowles (1982-85), 25-11.
