Temple Athletics Scores High Marks in Latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate Release

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics registered a 93 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR), the sixth consecutive year it has compiled a GSR of 90 or above, it was announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Temple is one of only 18 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools with a GSR of 93 or above and a Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) of 77 or higher.
"The Graduation Success Rate is a testament to the hard work our committed student-athletes have put in academically and showcases the tremendous efforts of Tara Evans and all staff members of the Nancy & Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes," Vice President/Debbie and Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics Arthur Johnson said. "Temple has a reputation as being one of the top academic institutions in the United States. Our student-athletes are a large part of that, and I am extremely proud of their accomplishments."
A total of 11 sport programs recorded perfect 100 GSR scores, which ties for 12th among FBS schools. The Temple sports that earned top marks were: Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Rowing, Women's Soccer, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, and Women's Volleyball.
Temple boasts the only men's basketball program in the American Athletic Conference with a GSR and FGR above 90. Temple registered a 100 GSR. Additionally, it is one of only three FBS men's basketball programs to reach the 90-percent threshold in both metrics.

- Men's Tennis has earned a perfect 100 GSR score in each of the last 12 years.
- Additionally, Women's Lacrosse has posted 100 GSR for 10 consecutive years.
- Three sport programs – Women's Rowing, Women's Soccer, and Women's Volleyball – have hit the mark of 100 in seven straight years.
- Men's Basketball has hit the 100 GSR mark five years in a row, and Field Hockey is at four straight years.
- Women's Volleyball and Men's Cross Country are the only respective programs in the American Athletic Conference to achieve a perfect 100 GSR and FGR.
- Women's Tennis is one of only two AAC women's tennis programs to achieve perfect scores in GSR and FGR.
- Temple's average overall Graduation Success Rate over the past six years ties for 28th among FBS institutions.
