Atkins and DeMasi Named CSC Academic All-District

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer athletes Shari Atkins and Natalie DeMasi have been recognized as College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District honorees for 2024. The award highlights student-athletes for their excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Atkins, a junior forward, has had an impressive season, notably scoring two goals and providing one assist in back-to-back games against Le Moyne and La Salle. She has appeared in 18 games this season, starting 17, leading the team with 3 goals and 8 points, while also setting career highs in shots on goal.
DeMasi, a senior right defensive back, has been a key contributor to Temple's defense, helping secure two shutouts this season and starting in 16 games.
In addition to their athletic achievements, both athletes have excelled academically. Atkins boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in International Business and has earned Dean's List honors for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. DeMasi, who is the co-founder of Temple's Morgan's Message chapter, has a GPA of 3.66 while majoring in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Psychology. She has also earned Dean's List honors in both Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
To qualify for the Academic All-District award, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.50, and have participated in at least 90 percent of team games or started 67 percent of them.
