Temple Athletics Announces Executive Board for SAAC, Five Student-Athlete Organizations

Temple Athletics is pleased to introduce the 2024-25 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board and four other organization driven by Temple's student-athletes.

Volleyball graduate student Taylor Davenport and men's cross country sophomore David Litvin serve as co-presidents of SAAC, an organization that was set up to enhance the total student-athlete experience by protecting student-athlete well-being, fostering a positive student-athlete image and inclusive student-athlete environment, and promoting student-athlete engagement at the national, conference and local levels.

The Black Student-Athlete Association (BSAA) at Temple University is a student-athlete organization dedicated to the black student-athlete experience. BSAA's mission is to celebrate diversity within the Temple University Athletic Department, providing a safe space and an advocacy platform for Black-identifying student-athletes at the university.

Morgan's Message is an organization for student-athletes to de-stigmatize mental health among student athletes. A non-profit organization, it offers valuable resources and expertise to individuals grappling with mental health issues. Temple's chapter was established in April 2022, with the goal of fostering mental health awareness and support within the student-athlete community.

Temple University's Student-Athlete Safe Space (SASS) is a student-athlete organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA community. Comprising both LGBTQIA and straight student-athletes, SASS is committed to fostering an inclusive environment within Temple Athletics for LGBTQIA students. SASS was founded in 2016, stemming from a panel discussion titled 'LGBTQIA Topics Discussion - 'Lunch & Learn' hosted by Temple's Compliance and Student-Athlete Affairs, which brought seven student-athletes together to create this important group.
