2.14.24 | General

PHILADELPHIA - Aly Hinton, who is in her fifth year on the Temple athletics staff, has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations, announced Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Finance and Administration Bryan Senior.

In this new role, Hinton will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Athletics Business Office and overseeing the processing and recording of department transactions. She will also handle weekly and monthly reconciliation and reporting of revenues and expenses, along with aiding in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial and governmental reporting.  She will also serve as the secondary contact for personnel activities of the athletics department.

"Aly is one of the hardest workers in our department and has earned this well-deserved promotion," said Senior. "It is always nice to be able to promote from within an organization in this case it was an easy decision.  Aly has the skill set and experience needed to transition to this new role, and she has a tremendous understanding of the inner working of Temple Athletics which made her the perfect choice."

"I want to thank (Vice President/Director of Athletics) Arthur (Johnson) and Bryan for this opportunity and their trust in me," said Hinton.  "I have enjoyed the last four years working at Temple as the Athletics Travel Coordinator and look forward to continuing to contribute to Temple Athletics' success in this new role."

Hinton joined the Owls as Athletics Travel Coordinator in October 2019. In her position as travel coordinator, she was responsible for managing air and ground transportation, as well as hotel bookings for teams and staff members.

Hinton came to North Broad after spending two seasons as the Florida International University Women's Basketball Director of Operations. With the Panthers, Hinton handled the day-to-day operations of the team, including budget management and travel coordination.

Prior to her experience at FIU, Hinton spent three years as an assistant coach at Southern New Hampshire University, including her final two as the team's recruiting coordinator.

As an undergraduate, Hinton played basketball for Boston University, earning a B.A. in Psychology in 2009 after just three years, while finishing a Master's in Education in her final year of eligibility in 2010. She tallied over 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in her career as a Terrier.

Following her collegiate playing career, Hinton played professionally in Israel from 2010-2014, winning the Israeli League Championship, the Israeli Cup and Eurocup Championship in her first pro season and capturing the championship in the Israeli First Division in her final season overseas.

Hinton completed a Master's in Business Administration, with a concentration in Athletic Administration, her second postgraduate degree, in 2017, while spending three years in Manchester, New Hampshire.

A native of nearby Richboro, Pa., Hinton led her Council Rock High School team to four consecutive league titles and a trip to the PIAA 4A state finals in 2005-06.
