FORT WORTH, Texas – Temple's magical run in the American Athletic Conference championship came to a close in the title game as the Owls fell to the UAB Blazers 85-69 on Sunday afternoon.

For their efforts, Hysier Miller and Steve Settle III were named to the All-Tournament Team.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

Miller netted a career-high 32 in the game. In the process, he set the AAC tournament record for scoring, amassing 96 points during the week.
He also came away with three steals, extending his AAC tournament record to 16.
Shane Dezonie scored 11.
Jordan Riley tallied seven and blocked three shots.
Sam Hofman pulled in 11 rebounds.
The Owls won more games in this tournament than Temple had won in the AAC Championship previously in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The teams played evenly early on with the difference through the second media timeout of the opening half being three-point shooting by the Blazers as UAB took a 15-10 lead eight minutes into the contest. The Blazers extended the lead to 22-12 before a 6-0 run for the Owls sliced the lead to four.
From that point, Temple struggled to find consistent offense as UAB was able to build its lead back. Miller worked to keep the Owls in it, scoring 16 points in the first half.
Early on in the second half, Temple began to find its stroke, making four shots in a row as the Owls looked to dent the Blazers lead. Led by Miller, Temple closed the gap to 12 with under three minutes to go before the Blazers cemented the final.
