Women’s Rowing 2nd Varsity 8 wins Kerr Cup for First Time Since 2016

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple Women's Rowing program competed on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia this weekend, taking part in the Kerr Cup Regatta.
The Owls' 2nd Varsity 8 was the story of the day, winning the Kerr Cup for the first time since 2016. Temple saw five boats make it to the grand finals of their respective events.
"It was a thrill to put out six competitive lineups on our home course this weekend," Associate Head coach Kelsey Franks said. "We gained some valuable race experience and came away with a lot of information as a team. The win in the 2nd Varsity 8+ is a public showcase of the adaptability and grit our entire team has been sharpening all year. The team spirit and support was the highlight of the day, and we're carrying that into the second half of our racing season."

Up Next
Next up, Temple returns to the Schuylkill for another weekend of competition in Philadelphia. The Owls are set to host the Kelly Cup, where the team will also honor its seniors. The regatta will take place on April 27.
