Women’s Rowing Places Fourth at 2024 AAC Championships

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The Temple Women's Rowing program competed at the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championships on Lake Melton in Oak Ridge Tennessee on Sunday, May 12.
The Owls scored 72 team points to place fourth overall in the team standings. The Cherry & White's top finish came in the 2nd Varsity 4, where Temple placed third. The Owls saw fourth-place finishes in the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, and Varsity 4 races.
Following the racing, the AAC announced its all-conference teams. Alex Catalano earned a spot on the All-AAC first team, and Amarna Milne and Niamh Kiely were selected to the All-AAC second team.
The 2024 AAC Rowing Championships marked the final year that the conference will host women's rowing.
How It Happened
> In the 2nd Varsity 4, the Owls earned a third-place bronze medal finish with a time of 8:04.550. The Cherry & White battled out a closely contested race with Sacramento State, in which the Owls pulled away late to secure third.
> The Owls Varsity 4 came in fourth, with a time of 7:59.068.
> The Cherry & White 2nd Varsity 8 finished in fourth place, clocking in at 7:01.658.
> The Temple Varsity 8 clocked in at 6:53.680, placing fourth in the final event of the day.
