Temple University alumni, staff, family, and friends are invited to Elmwood Park Zoo on Sunday, October 6 for a Temple Takeover!
Join head men's basketball coach Adam Fisher, head women's basketball coach Diane Richardson, Temple student-athletes, members of the Temple Pep Band and Spirit Squad, and more as we look ahead to an exciting basketball season.
Â
"We can't wait to interact with our fans at the Elmwood Park Zoo on October 6," Vice President/Debbie and Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics Arthur Johnson said. "This is a great opportunity for us to connect with our alumni and fan base in Montgomery County and introduce them to our outstanding student-athletes and coaches. I would like to especially thank Board President Cherifa Nouri-Howarth, a Temple alum, CEO Al Zone, and rest of their leadership for their willingness to partner with us to host this event."Â
Gates to the Elmwood Park Zoo open at 10:00 a.m., with autograph signing and picture-taking opportunities available from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will also be a special Q&A session with Temple coaches scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. Face painting and inflatable stations will also be available for children attending.
All attendees who come to the zoo wearing Temple gear will receive a $5 discount on ticket prices.
"The collaboration between Temple University and Elmwood Park Zoo is especially significant to me," said Cherifa Nouri-Howarth, President of Elmwood Park Zoo and former field hockey student-athlete at Temple. "As a former collegiate field hockey player at Temple and current president at Elmwood, it is important to bring my two passions together. Stella, one of Elmwood Park Zoo's leading ambassadors, has been Temple's live mascot for the last 10 years. This day is going to be truly amazing. Come see where Stella lives and why our great zoo loves to collaborate with Temple University. GO OWLS!"
