Cross Country Concludes Season at Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Temple cross country teams competed this afternoon for the final time this season at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
The women were led by Rose Tuomisto after she finished with a personal record of 22:14, placing 114 out of 210 runners. Rian Johnson also ended the season with a personal record of 22:52. As a team, the women finished in 27th out of 30 schools and combined for 774 points. West Virginia took home the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship after scoring 56 points. They had the top-two finishers of the meet and their three other scorers also placed inside the top-30 overall.
The men ran well against a very stacked region. Leading the way was senior Mattia Zen, who finished with a time of 31:13 which put him in 55th place out of 197 athletes. It was the first time that Noé Sengel, Kasem Kaheal, Myles Munro, and Charles Rizek competed in a 10K. Overall, the men placed 15th out of 28 schools. Princeton took home the trophy on the men's side after totaling 45 points and having their top-five runners come across the line inside the top-20.
