Owls in the NFL - Week 13
12.2.25 | Football
In an exciting Sunday Night Football game, Commander's linebackers Jordan Magee (2019-23) and Jacob Martin (2014-17) continued to make their presence felt on defense. Magee was making plays all over the field, setting a new career-high with six total tackles. Martin consistently generated pressure off the edge, which caught the attention of SNF announcer Cris Collinsworth who repeatedly praised Martin throughout the game. On a crucial 3rd-and-4 late in the fourth, Martin dropped into coverage and broke up a pass, helping force a punt that set up Washington's game-tying field goal to send the game into overtime. The Broncos ultimately came out on top, 27-26.Â
Linebacker Haason Reddick made his return to the field this week as the Todd Bowles' (1982-85) led Tampa Bay Buccaneers were victorious over the Cardinals, 20-17. After missing the last four games, Reddick made his presence felt as the Bucs d-line had nine pressures on the QB, after averaging just six per game in the matchups without Reddick. He also picked up two tackles as the Bucs now improved to 7-5 on the year under Bowles.Â
A Thanksgiving Owls vs Owls matchup saw Packers' kicker Brandon McManus (2009-12) going up against Lions cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. McManus converted his only field goal attempt, from 45 yards out, and also converted all four of his PATs. Ya-Sin appeared briefly on defense and did not record any statistics. The Packers ended up coming out on top 31-24.Â
Another Owls vs Owls matchup pitted Jaguars cornerback Christian Braswell (2017-20) facing Titans tight end David Martin-Robinson (2018-23). Braswell recorded a TFL during the matchup while Martin-Robinson played multiple snaps but did not record any statistics. The Jaguars went on to win 25-3.Â
Left tackle Dion Dawkins (2013-16) missed the Bills 26-7 win over the Steelers this week due to a concussion. Safety Sam Franklin (2016-19) did play and contributed on special teams.Â
Linebacker Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) recorded two tackles in the Falcons 27-24 loss to the Jets. Offensive lineman Matt Hennessy (2016-19) played on the field goal and PAT protection unit in the 49ers 26-8 win over the Browns.Â
