Owls in the NFL - Week 16

12.23.25 | Football

It was a week to remember for Bills' star left tackle Dion Dawkins (2013-16). Dawkins was dealing with the flu all week long and lost 14 pounds ahead of the Bills' showdown vs the Browns. He did not begin to practice until Friday to prepare to go up against Browns' star pass rusher Myles Garrett who was just 1.5 sacks away from the NFL's single-season sack record. Dawkins ended up playing phenomenally all game long, allowing just a half sack to Garrett and leading the Bills to a 23-20 victory. Safety Sam Franklin (2016-19) did not play in the game.

In an exciting Sunday Night Football game, cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (2018) was solid in coverage despite the Lions 29-24 loss to the Steelers. He recorded four total tackles including a TFL and held star receiver D.K. Metcalf to just four receptions. Michael Niese (2020-21), who was elevated from the practice squad prior to the game, made his season debut for the Lions as he came in for three plays at center during the third quarter.

Commanders' linebackers Jordan Magee (2019-23) and Jacob Martin (2014-17) continued to make plays despite their 29-18 loss to the Eagles. Magee recorded four total tackles including a TFL while Martin recorded two tackles including a sack. Both have continued to have breakout seasons and have turned many heads around the NFL.

Green Bay kicker Brandon McManus (2009-12) had another successful week kicking in the Packers' heartbreaking 22-16 overtime loss to the Bears. He successfully made all three of his field goal attempts from 26, 22, and 28 yards, while also converting a PAT. McManus has been very solid since returning from injury a few weeks ago.

Linebacker Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) had a solid game in the Falcons 26-19 win over the Cardinals. He recorded another sack, his second of the season, and became the Falcons 11th player this season to record multiple sacks.

Head coach Todd Bowles (1982-85) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell narrowly to the Carolina Panthers by a score of 23-20. Linebacker Haason Reddick recorded three tackles in the loss.

Tight end David Martin-Robinson (2019-23) saw an increased role at tight end, playing 22 snaps in the Titans 26-9 win over the Chiefs. Despite not being targeted, he did contribute towards a run game that totaled 164 yards on the ground.

Offensive lineman Matt Hennessey (2016-19) played in the 49ers 48-27 win over the Colts. Cornerback Christian Braswell (2017-20) played  in the Jaguars 34-20 win over the Broncos.

The following players remain on inactive rosters:
Baltimore – WR Keith Kirkwood (2014–17) – Practice Squad
Detroit – TE Kenny Yeboah (2016–19) – Injured
Miami – TE Chris Myarick (2014–18) – Practice Squad
