Mason Selected Big 5 Player of the Week, American Conference Honorable Mention

PHILADELPHIA – After leading the Temple University men's basketball team to a 65-61 win over Princeton last week, the Philadelphia Big 5 and the American Conference announced Monday afternoon that senior guard Jordan Mason earned honors from both organizations.
Mason was named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week and received American Conference honorable mention recognition.
The San Antonio, Texas, native scored a season-high 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting while adding three rebounds and four assists in the Owls' second win over the Tigers this season.
With his first field goal of the second half, Mason reached the 1,000-point milestone for his career. He totaled 575 points over two seasons at Texas State (2022-24), added 288 points during his junior season at UIC (2023-24), and now has 145 points as an Owl through 13 games.
Among the top point guards in the conference, Mason currently ranks second in the American in assist-to-turnover ratio, third in total assists and fourth in assists per game.
Mason previously earned American Conference honorable mention recognition on Dec. 15.
The Owls open American Conference play and close the 2025 calendar year Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. on the road at Charlotte.
