PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing skid with a dominant 103-57 win over Georgian Court on Tuesday evening inside the Liacouras Center.

The Owls improved to 5-5 and will take on Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon in North Philadelphia. The Lions (5-3, 2-0 CACC) return to conference play Thursday night in Lakewood, N.J., against Jefferson.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It was a scrappy start for both teams through the first five minutes, with Temple holding a slim 7-5 lead.
  • After the first media timeout, the Owls went on a commanding 16-0 run, pushing the advantage to 23-7. Aiden Tobiason led Temple during the stretch with six points.
  • Temple extended its lead to 19 by halftime and led by as many as 22 in the first 20 minutes of play. Masiah Gilyard pushed his total to six points, while Gavin Griffiths finished the frame with nine.
  • Georgian Court looked to gain momentum at the start of the second half, scoring the first seven points of the period.
  • Temple quickly regained control as a key 3-pointer from Gilyard sparked an Owl run to push the lead back to 22 with 12 minutes remaining.
  • Temple remained on top for the remainder of the contest, with its lead growing as large as 49 en route to the 103-57 victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
  • Jordan Mason recorded his first career double-double with a career-high 11 assists, surpassing his previous best of nine, set during the 2024-25 season at UIC. He is the first Owl with 11 or more assists since Shizz Alston Jr. tallied 11 against Davidson on Dec. 15, 2018.
  • Mason also matched his career high with eight rebounds, finishing just two points shy of Temple's first triple-double since Pepe Sanchez posted 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against La Salle in 1998.
  • Derrian Ford (18), Aiden Tobiason (17), Gavin Griffiths (14), Cam Wallace (11), Masiah Gilyard (11) and Mason (10) all finished in double figures for Temple.
  • Connor Gal scored seven points in the second half, a career high for the Malvern, Pa., native.
  • Temple's 46-point margin of victory marked its first 40-point win since a 108-61 triumph over Saint Joseph's during the 2019-20 season.
  • The Owls led by 19 in the first half, their largest lead in a single period since facing Holy Family in the 2024-25 season.
  • Temple scored an even 60 points in the second half, the program's first 60-point half since registering 63 against LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 21, 2013.
  • As a team, the Owls recorded 25 assists, the most in program history since a 26-assist performance against Toledo during the 2010-11 season.
  • Wallace's 11 points marked a career best for the freshman.
