Temple Athletics Celebrates Another Successful Academic Semester & 2025 Graduates

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University student-athletes put together yet another outstanding semester in the classroom, closing out the 2025 academic year with remarkable achievements across the board.
With a Spring Semester GPA of 3.46, this marks the 27th consecutive semester that Temple Athletics has maintained a department GPA of 3.0 or higher and the 7th straight semester above a 3.25.
An impressive 84.6% of student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher this semester and 65 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"This continued academic performance is a reflection of the drive and focus of our student-athletes, as well as the support provided by our academic staff, coaches, and faculty," Vice President/Debbie and Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics Arthur Johnson said. "We are incredibly proud of their efforts and commitment to excellence."
Among Temple's 19 varsity programs, 12 programs had a 3.5 or above. Notably, women's lacrosse had a department-leading 3.70 GPA while men's cross country posted a 3.62 GPA to lead all men's sport programs. The men's tennis team had every student-athlete from its program reach a 3.0 GPA or higher.
All 19 varsity teams now boast a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, with the department-wide GPA holding at an impressive 3.45.
The end of the 2025 spring semester also marked a time to celebrate the Class of 2025, including the 124 student-athletes who graduated during the 2024–2025 academic year.
These graduates represent 19 states and 15 countries and earned degrees across 43 different academic programs, spanning both undergraduate and graduate levels. Among them, 106 student-athletes earned undergraduate degrees, while 18 completed master's degrees or graduate certificates.
