Women's Soccer Signs 12 for the 2025 Season

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Women's Soccer Head Coach Chris Shaw has announced the addition of 12 new players for the 2025 season.

Eva Matesich:
Forward| 5'2"| Freshman
Hometown: Medford, N.J.
Last School: Shawnee High School

'We are so excited to have Eva for this 2025 season. Her speed and ability to create opportunities up top will be super beneficial to our forward line this year. She's a high-energy player who will make an impact on and off the field! Eva played her club soccer just over the Delaware river at Real Futbol Academy."

Eva Canevari:
Forward | 5'4"| Freshman
Hometown: Jessup, Pa.
Last School: Valley View High School

"We're excited to welcome Eva to the team this season! She's a creative and crafty forward who consistently finds ways to create scoring opportunities. Her vision and playmaking ability will be a huge asset to our attack this year. Eva is one of our two in-state recruits and played her club soccer for Hex FC Bucks."

Teagan Harkins:
Forward| 5'6"| Freshman
Hometown: Glenmore, Pa.
Last School: Downington HS West

"We're thrilled to welcome Teagan to the team this season! She's a relentless worker who gives maximum effort both on and off the ball. Her natural goal-scoring ability will make her a great addition in our attack. Our other in-state recruit, Teagan played her club soccer for FC Delco."

Maddie Ward:
Midfielder| 5'9"| Freshman
Hometown: Milton, Ga.
Last School: Cambridge HS

We're excited to have Maddie join the team this season! She brings a positive, team-first mindset that will be a great addition to our culture. Her versatility on the field and experience coming from a strong club background make her a valuable player to the team. Hailing from down south, Maddie played her club soccer for Tophat soccer club located in Atlanta, GA.

Ari Gronauer:
Midfielder |5-5| Redshirt-Junior
Hometown: Las Vegas, Nev.
Last School: Pacific

"Originally from Las Vegas, NV, Ari comes to Temple as a graduate transfer from Pacific University. Ari saw quality game time at her previous institution and will look to make an immediate impact at Temple. She brings a host of valuable experience and leadership and has the ability to create and score goals. She will be a valuable asset to our attack this season."

Claudia Viau:
Goalie| 5'7"| Freshman
Hometown: Granby, Quebec, Canada
Last School: Cégep Garneau

"Claudia is currently playing for Cegep Garneau in Quebec City, Quebec. She is a fearless goalkeeper that possesses excellent shot-stopping ability and has a great presence on the field. Claudia will provide great depth to the Temple women soccer goalkeeper corps."

Sophia Chipriano:
Midfielder| 5'5"| Sophomore
Hometown: Schuykill Haven, Pa.
Last School: Fordham

"Sophia is a Fordham University transfer and PA product returning to her home state. As a freshman at Fordham, Sophia saw a good amount of playing time and brings valuable college experience to Temple. A hard working and tough tackling forward, Sophia will be a handful for opposing defenders.

Madi AbiAoun:

"Madi is a versatile left-sided player that can play in the back or in the attack. She possesses a great work ethic and athleticism. Her versatility will allow her to compete for multiple spots on the field. She played her club soccer just up the road in New York for Long Island Soccer Club."

Bex Guy
Defender| 5'3"| Freshman
Hometown: Cheshire, England
Last School: Tarporley High School

"Bex is an exciting prospect for Temple Women's Soccer, coming from England! Bex will add creativity and outstanding technical ability to the left side of the Owl's offense. A former player for the Wales Youth National Team and Everton FC, Bex brings a wealth of experience with her, having played at the top levels in the U.K."

Valentina Bitterwolf
Midfielder| 5'3"| Freshman
Hometown: Dreieich, Hessen
Last School: Leibniz Gymnasium Östringen

' We welcome Valentina Bitterwolf from Germany! 'Val' is a creative, skillful, attacking midfielder and winger and has played for Hoffenheim II and Eintracht Frankfort in the Bundesliga II. Val's game intelligence and 'eye for a pass' should prove crucial to unlocking opponent's defenses for the Owl's this season! "

Liv-Lilith Faulk
Defender| 5'7"| Freshman
Hometown: Vienna, Austria
Last School: Stubenbastei GRG1

" Liv is the second German player coming to Philadelphia to play for the Owl's this year. An explosive athlete, Liv will play an impactful role as a defender or wingback, using her speed and strength to shutdown opponents and provide width in the Temple attack. Liv played for First Vienna FC 1984 last season in the Austrian Bundesliga."

Ofri Sacker
Defender | 5'8"| Freshmen
Hometown: Mishmarot, Israel
Last School: Hapoel Petah Tikva

' Ofri becomes our second Israeli National Team player to join the Owl's in 2025, joining teammate, Maya Ephrati. A tough, strong, central defender with great leadership skills, Ofri has represented the Israeli National Team in UEFA U17 and U19 qualifying games over 20 times, bringing a wealth of top-level experience to 'The Nest!' Ofri played her club soccer for Hapoel Raanana Women FC in Israel."
