Single Digit 2025

Temple Football Names Five New Single-Digits

8.20.25 | Football

PHILADELPHIA – Head coach K.C. Keeler continued Temple's single-digit tradition Wednesday night, announcing five new players to this special fraternity.

This tradition began in 2009 under former head coach Al Golden. Single digits are awarded to Temple's toughest players both on and off the field. They embody what it means to be Temple TUFF. These student-athletes are leaders among their peers and show up with a championship-level mindset every day.

The single-digit players announced include punter Dante Atton (#7), wide receiver Colin Chase (#1), and defensive tackle Allan Haye (#8), defensive tackle Sekou Kromah (#0), and quarterback Evan Simon (#6).

Atton's single-digit nomination has some history behind it as he is the first ever specialist to receive the recognition. Atton enters his third season with the Owls, all of which he has been the primary punter and holder. The Australian native was an integral part of the field goal unit that led Maddux Trujillo to become just the third player in NCAA history to kick two 60+ yard field goals in the same season. Last season at Oklahoma Atton hit a career-long punt of 58 yards. He enters 2025 as Temple's lone experienced specialist with new kickers and long snappers joining the fold.

As a redshirt junior transfer to Temple, Chase has taken 10th & Diamond by storm. The wide receiver came in and put his nose to the ground and worked. His previous three seasons were spent at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Last year he earned All-Pioneer Football League honors on offense (first team) and special teams (second team). Chase played in all 12 games and recorded 37 receptions for a team-leading 633 yards and six touchdowns.

Redshirt defensive tackle Allan Haye gets the nod as a single digit wearer in his third season as an Owl. Haye is an anchor on the defensive line and has proved that since he's been at Temple. Last year he returned after an injury shortened 2023 season and got stronger as the year progressed.

Kromah enters his second season donning the Cherry & White. He recorded his first snaps last season at Oklahoma, recording one tackle in the game. The New Jersey native had his best game against Army. He finished the day with four tackles including one tackle for loss. Kromah earned a start at Tulane, Florida Atlantic, and UTSA.

Lastly, Simon enters his redshirt senior year in 2025, one year removed from starting nine games in 2024. The Mount Joy, Pa. native made his first Temple start against Coastal Carolina. Simon had a historic game in week four against Utah State, totaling six touchdowns, five through the air and one on the ground. This performance led the Owls to a 45-29 win at home, and an American Conference Honor Roll nod for Simon. The Owl's signal caller finished 2024 with 2,032 yards passing and 15 touchdowns.
