Temple Cross Country Gains Experience Against Elite Competition in Happy Valley

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Temple men's and women's cross country ran this morning at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational hosted by Penn State.

The men's team placed last out of nine teams with a total of 231 points. The top runner for the Owls was sophomore Francesco Candiani with a 41st-place finish. Syracuse had a dominant performance, totaling 15 points and having seven of their athletes in the top 10, earning them the victory for the fourth year in a row.

On the women's side, freshman Dagny Shiffler led all Owls, coming in 62nd out of 112 athletes. Penn State took first in the women's 6K with a total of 19 points as they had six athletes in the top 10. Marking their third home meet win in a row. Temple placed last out of the field of 10 teams after combining for 307 points.
