1.20.26 | Football

It was an overtime thriller in Denver as left tackle Dion Dawkins, safety Sam Franklin, and running back Ray Davis (2019) traveled to Mile High to take on the Broncos in the divisional round. Dawkins helped anchor an offense that totaled 449 yards, including 183 on the ground, for an offense that put up 30 points. Davis was effective in the kicking game, returning five kicks for 130 yards and also hauled in two receptions for 33 yards. Franklin did not record any defensive snaps but did contribute on special teams. The Broncos went on to win, 33-30, on a game-winning field goal by Will Lutz to advance to the AFC Championship game.

Offensive lineman Matt Hennessey played three offensive snaps in the 49ers' 41-6 loss to the Seahawks.

Here's how the other Owls in the NFL performed in 2025.

Todd Bowles (1982-85) completed his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Bucs. His squad posted an 8-9 record and just narrowly missed out on an NFC South title.

Christian Braswell (2017-20) appeared in every game this year for the Jaguars as a key special teams contributor and also saw action at cornerback. The second-year pro posted 14 total tackles on the year, including two for a loss, and also recorded three passes defended.

Dion Dawkins (2013-16) played in 17 games as the Bills starting left tackle. He led the way for an offense that gained 2,714 yards on the ground and 3,981 yards through the air during the regular season. He was a consensus all-pro and will participate in his sixth straight Pro Bowl.

Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20) played in every game for the Falcons this season at linebacker. He totaled 36 tackles on the year, including five for a loss, and also posted two sacks.

Sam Franklin (2016-19) joined the Bills to begin the season after spending the offseason with Denver. He played in 17 games and collected 13 tackles, seeing most of his action on special teams

Matt Hennessey (2016-19) appeared in 11 games in his second year with the Falcons. He saw a lot of action on the FG/PAT protection unit and also started two games at center.

Jordan Magee (2019-23) had a breakout year during his sophomore season in the NFL with the Commanders. The linebacker finished sixth on the team in tackling with 54 total stops, including three for a loss. An exciting 2026 is in store for Magee on the Commanders' defense and special teams.

Jacob Martin (2014-17) signed a one-year contract with the Commanders after previously being with the Bears. The eighth-year defensive lineman had his most productive season of his career, playing in every game and setting new career-highs with 22 total tackles and 5.5 sacks.

David Martin-Robinson (2018-23) appeared in every game this year for the Titans. The second-year pro hauled in four passes for 30 yards including a touchdown, and saw his playing time at tight end increase as the season went on.

Brandon McManus (2009-12) completed his second season with the Packers and his 12th total in the NFL. He converted all but one of his PATs during the year and converted 24 field goals, including a 56-yarder. He converted three total kicks from 50+ and was perfect on all kicks from 20-39 yards out.

Haason Reddick (2013-16) signed a one-year deal with the Bucs in the offseason after previously being with the Jets. The ninth-year linebacker posted 31 total tackles on the year, including six for a loss, and also recorded 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Rock Ya-Sin (2018) signed a one-year contract with the Lions this offseason after previously being with the 49ers. He played in every game during the regular season and was a steady presence in the Lions' secondary all season long.
