No. 14 Owls Back in Action for Senior Meet

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 14 Temple fencing team returns home to McGonigle Hall this weekend for its annual Senior Meet. The Sunday-only competition marks the Owls' first action after a well-earned week off following a strong outing at the UNC Miller Invitational.
Temple begins competition at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, opening with bouts against Penn State, Johns Hopkins, and Princeton before closing the day versus city rivals Penn and then Saint John's.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls continued their impressive early-season form at the UNC Miller Invite, posting a 3-2 record on the day. Temple opened with an 18-9 victory over Air Force, highlighted by an 8-1 performance from the sabre squad. The Cherry and White followed with a thrilling 14-13 win over host North Carolina before facing a pair of nationally ranked opponents. Despite setbacks against Duke (10-17) and Boston College (9-18), Temple closed strong with a dominant 20-7 win over Brandeis.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Senior foilist Natalie Adams-Kim paced the Owls with a standout 10-2 mark, including undefeated efforts against Boston College and Brandeis. She also secured crucial 2-1 victories in tight matches versus UNC and Duke.
In epee, Victoria Doroshkevich finished 8-5 while Anne-Mai Melles went 5-3, with both athletes sweeping their Brandeis bouts at 3-0.
Leading the sabre squad, Samantha Nathanson delivered a strong 6-2 performance, going a perfect 3-0 against both UNC and Duke.

Following the Senior Meet, the Owls will travel to Madison, N.J., for the NIWFA Championships on Saturday, February 28.
