Derrian Ford Named to American Conference Third Team, All-Newcomer Team

IRVING, Texas – Temple University senior guard Derrian Ford has been named to the American Conference Third Team and the All-Newcomer Team, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Among conference leaders, Ford ranks fourth in points (545), points per game (18.2), free throw attempts (194) and minutes per game (35:42). He also ranks third in free throws made (165), fourth in free throw percentage (.851), seventh in field goal attempts (388) and eighth in both field goal percentage (.428) and field goals made (166).
Nationally, Ford ranks 35th in free throws made, 39th in minutes per game, 59th in free throw attempts and 82nd in points per game. He enters the postseason with 1,207 career points and 412 rebounds. Ford spent his freshman season at Arkansas and then transferred to Arkansas State for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns, before becoming a Temple Owl.
Ford scored in double figures in 29 of 30 appearances this season, including 14 games with 20 or more points.
The Magnolia, Ark., native earned three weekly league honors during his final collegiate season, including being named American Conference Player of the Week on Dec. 22.
Ford and the Owls open the conference championships Wednesday night against seventh seed Florida Atlantic at 9 p.m. inside Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala. The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
