Ozturk Earns American Player of the Week Honors

IRVING, Texas – After a strong showing last week in matches against Saint Joseph's and Villanova, Irmak Ozturk earned player of the week honors from the American Conference.
The Turkey native posted a perfect 4-0 record this past week, going 2-0 in both singles and doubles to lead the Owls to two wins against Philly rivals. Competing at the top of the lineup, Ozturk earned a dominant straight-sets win over Villanova's Olivia Corcoran, 6-2, 6-1, while also adding a straight-sets victory against Saint Joseph's Wiktoria Czerny, 6-4, 6-1. In doubles play, she partnered with Tianni Zhou to secure wins in both matches, contributing to Temple's doubles points in a 5-2 win over Saint Joseph's and a 4-3 victory over Villanova.
Temple women's tennis has three matches on this week's schedule, facing the Delaware Blue Hens on March 31, NJIT on April 3, and Drexel on April 5.
