White led Oregon State with 66 3-pointers during the 2025-26 season

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced Thursday the addition of Dez White as his first transfer portal signing of the 2026-27 season.

White, a 6-foot-2 guard from Jefferson City, Missouri, spent his junior season at Oregon State. He started 27 games and averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He led the Beavers with 66 3-pointers and ranked seventh in the West Coast Conference with 2.2 3-pointers made per game.

"We're very excited to welcome Dez to our Temple family," said Fisher of the newest Owl. "Dez is a dynamic guard who brings experience, production and toughness to our program. He has the ability to make plays, score in a variety of ways and impact winning. We believe his feel for the game, work ethic and mindset make him a great fit for what we're building here at Temple."

White enters his final season of eligibility at Temple with 1,002 career points, 279 rebounds, 178 assists and 94 steals in 96 appearances with 93 starts across three seasons at Oregon State (2025-26), Missouri State (2024-25) and Austin Peay (2023-24). He has made 207 career 3-pointers, ranking 92nd among active NCAA Division I players at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

"The coaching staff was very consistent and showed how much they valued me and my family," said White. "Temple checked all the boxes I was looking for, and I feel like it will be a great fit to have a big season."

As a sophomore, White posted a standout season at Missouri State, averaging 14.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while starting all 31 games. He shot 37.1 percent from 3-point range and made 79 of 96 free throws (82.3 percent). He scored in double figures in 23 contests and had seven 20-point games, highlighted by a career-high 30-point performance against Indiana State.

As a true freshman, White earned ASUN All-Freshman Team honors at Austin Peay, where he averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He made a team freshman-record 63 3-pointers, the 13th most by an NCAA Division I freshman and the second most in the conference among first-year players.

A three-year starter at Helias Catholic in Jefferson City, Missouri, White helped lead the Crusaders to a runner-up finish in Missouri Class 5 while scoring a school-record 699 points in a season. He averaged 27.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game to earn all-state honors and conference player of the year recognition. He completed his high school career at The Skill Factory Prep in Georgia after graduating from Helias Catholic. He helped the program earn a top-20 national ranking and was rated a three-star recruit by On3 and 247Sports.
