Edwin Suarez Jr. Signs with Temple for 2026-27 Campaign

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced the signing of Edwin Suarez Jr. on Monday.
Suarez Jr., a 6-6 forward, spent the 2025-26 season at Weber State. He averaged 9.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 20 starts and 31 total appearances for the Wildcats.
"We're excited to welcome Edwin back to Pennsylvania and to our Temple family," Fisher said. "We know the Greater Reading community will be proud to see him continue his career on North Broad. He brings an efficient offensive game, physicality and a relentless approach on the glass. Edwin has shown he can impact the game in a lot of ways, both offensively and defensively, and we believe his competitiveness will be a strong addition to our frontcourt."
In 2025-26, Suarez Jr. ranked in the top 10 of several categories in the Big Sky, including rebounding (ninth), offensive rebounds (sixth) and steals (seventh). He reached double figures in 11 contests, pouring in a season-high 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting against Utah Valley while adding 10 rebounds and two steals. He totaled three double-doubles, reached double-digit rebounds in five games and posted at least five boards in 22 contests. He also recorded multiple steals in 12 games, swiping a season-high four against both Montana State and Idaho State.
"I picked Temple because it felt like the right fit," Suarez Jr. said. "The coaching staff believe in me, and I know Temple is a place where I can continue to grow. Fans can expect me to work hard, bring energy and give everything I have every time I step on the court."
Prior to Weber State, Suarez Jr. attended Arizona Western College for two seasons. He made 41 starts in 60 appearances, averaging 11.2 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the field.
As a sophomore, he averaged 13.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Matadors. He earned NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Third Team All-America honors and was selected to the 2025 NJCAA Men's Basketball All-Star Game. Suarez Jr. led ACCAC Division I men's basketball with 281 rebounds and paced the conference with 106 offensive boards. He also earned All-ACCAC Division I First Team honors and was an all-region first-team selection.
As a true freshman in 2023-24, Suarez Jr. averaged 9.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 15 starts. He shot 50 percent from the field and reached double figures in 14 games.
A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Suarez Jr. attended Muhlenberg High School in Reading, Pennsylvania. He averaged 18.8 points and 11.0 rebounds as a senior in 2022, leading the Muhls to a state playoff appearance. He was named the 2022 recipient of the Dr. Richard Kleppinger Award, presented annually by the Reading Berks Basketball Association to the most outstanding boys basketball player in Berks County. He also garnered all-county honors.
Suarez Jr. represented the Dominican Republic at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship, averaging 11.5 points and 7.7 rebounds in six games in Tijuana, Mexico.
