Temple Football Announces 2026 Homecoming Contest

PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football announced Monday morning that the annual homecoming contest for the 2026 season will be on Saturday, October 10, against the UConn Huskies at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The kickoff time for this game will be announced at a later date.
The Owls have had great success on homecoming in recent history, going 15-5 since 2006. Last season, despite the result, Temple and Navy put on one of the most exciting games of the season. The Cherry & White came up short by a score of 32-31against a Navy opponent that finished the season with an 11-2 overall record.
Temple and UConn have a lot of history dating back to the early 1960s. The Owls hold a 14-7 overall record against the Huskies with a 7-3 record at home. The last time these two teams squared off in the City of Brotherly Love, Temple came out on top 49-17. Both programs met in the 2025 season up in Storrs, Conn., where the Huskies earned the win 29-20. Temple has owned the recent history, however, as it has won seven of the last 10 meetings against UConn.
