Temple Student-Athletes Register 3.48 Grade-Point Average Following Spring Semester

PHILADELPHIA - Following another successful semester and academic year in the classroom, Temple University student-athletes combined to record a 3.48 grade-point average during the spring 2026 semester. The Owls also increased their cumulative GPA to 3.50, up from a 3.45 mark after the fall semester.

The spring 2026 marks the 29th consecutive semester that Temple student-athletes combined to earn a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher and the ninth straight with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Nearly 83% of all student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester. A total of 65 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 semester GPA, matching the spring 2025 total.

"We are extremely proud of the way our student-athletes continue to excel academically," said Arthur Johnson, Vice President and Debbie & Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics. "Their hard work, discipline and commitment are reflected in these results. Our Resnick Academic Support Center staff, coaches and campus partners play an important role in helping them reach that standard."

All 19 Temple teams recorded a semester GPA of at least 3.00, and each maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Women's Tennis (3.79), Women's Soccer (3.79), Men's Soccer (3.63) and Women's Volleyball (3.69) registered program-record semester GPAs.

Women's Tennis and Women's Soccer tied for the highest semester GPA in the department at 3.79. Four teams saw 100% of their student-athletes earn a semester GPA of 3.0 or greater, while Women's Lacrosse led the way with an impressive 13 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 semester GPA.

Women's Fencing and Football posted the highest semester GPA in program history, excluding COVID-19 semesters with Fencing posting a semester GPA of a 3.75 and Football a 3.26 semester GPA.

As the academic year comes to a close, Temple Athletics celebrates 97 student-athlete graduates during the 2025-26 academic year, including 85 spring 2026 graduates and 12 fall 2025 graduates. The 2025-26 graduating class represents over 20 different US states and over 10 different countries, with student-athletes earning degrees across more than 40 majors.

Among the 2025-2026 graduates, 90 are expected to earn bachelor's degrees, while seven are expected to complete a master's degree or graduate certificate. Football boasted the largest graduating class of the 2025-2026 academic year with 21 student athletes.
