Temple Signs Louisiana Tech Forward Sir Issac Herron

5.6.26 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced Wednesday the signing of Sir Issac Herron for the 2026-27 season.

Herron, a 6-10 graduate student forward from Houston, Texas, spent the 2025-26 season at Louisiana Tech. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 59.3 percent from the field for the Bulldogs. He spent the previous four seasons at Oral Roberts and enters the 2026-27 season with 84 career appearances and 33 starts.

"We're excited to welcome Sir Issac to our Temple family," Fisher said. "He brings valuable experience to our frontcourt and has shown throughout his career that he can finish efficiently around the basket. His physicality, work ethic and athleticism will help our group. We believe his toughness and understanding of how to play to his strengths will make him a great fit for our program."

Herron scored in double figures in five contests last season, including a career-high 18 points against Sam Houston, adding two rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks. He pulled down five-plus rebounds in six games, grabbing a season-high six boards against Alcorn State.

At Oral Roberts, his best season with the Golden Eagles came as a redshirt sophomore in 2023-24. He made 22 starts in 31 total appearances, averaging 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while knocking down 57.7 percent of his field goal attempts.

"I chose Temple because it offers a great education, a great basketball program and a tremendous coaching staff," Herron said. "From the moment I arrived on campus, everyone welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. Being from the South, that meant a lot to me. The staff showed me the same Southern hospitality I'm used to, and that made my decision easy."

A three-star recruit and the No. 18-ranked player in the state of Texas by 247Sports, Herron helped Legacy the School of Sport Sciences to a state championship. He was selected to the all-conference second team.

Herron joins fellow transfer signees Dallis Dillard (Harlem, N.Y./IUP), Deuce Drake (Oak Park, Mich./Indiana), Jordan Marsh (Monroe, N.C./USC) Baboucarr Njie (Dayton, Ohio/UTSA), Cam Scott (Lexington, S.C./South Carolina) and Dez White (Jefferson City, Mo./Oregon State), returners Gavin Griffiths, Cam Wallace and Olin Chamberlain Jr., and incoming freshman Derrick Morton-Rivera on the 2026-27 roster.
