Women’s Rowing Adds Anne Horton to Coaching Staff

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's rowing head coach Rebecca Grzybowski announced August 11, 2026 the hiring of Anne Horton as assistant rowing coach. Horton joins the Owls from Smith College in Massachusetts where she spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant coach.
"We are thrilled to add Anne to our staff! Anne has already made a name for herself in the coaching world with a proven track record of developing athletes, creating strong relationships, and producing results on the water. From our first interactions, it was clear that she is aligned with our program values and goals," said Grzybowski. "I'm confident that she will make an immediate positive impact on our team with her high-performance mentality, her will to win, and her desire to learn."
While at Smith College, Horton primarily worked with the novices and the four varsity eight boats. Horton helped the Bears to back-to-back NEWMAC Conference championships and was also named as part of the 2026 NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
"I am so excited to be joining this group of amazing coaches and athletes. Coach Rebecca and Coach Kelsey have created an environment where their athletes are able to thrive at such a high level and I am ready to learn and build on an incredible foundation," said Horton.
As a student-athlete, Horton competed for Wesleyan University where she was a part of a squad that was the NCAA runner-up in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024.
