Clarke Named to John Mackey Award 2026 Preseason Watchlist

PHILADELPHIA – Senior tight end Peter Clarke has been named to the John Mackey Award 2026 Preseason Watchlist as announced Wednesday afternoon.
The John Mackey Award distinguishes the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight end who exemplifies gridiron mastery and character. This honor recognizes athletic giants who redefine leadership on the field and within their communities.
Clarke enters the 2026 season after a standout year as a junior for the Owls. He finished 2025 with 30 catches, 483 yards, and six touchdowns. His sixth touchdown catch of the season put him in first place in Temple history in touchdown receptions by a tight end. His 4-85-2TD performance against UMass earned him a spot on the Pro Football Focus Week 1 Team of the Week. The London product sits with nine career touchdown receptions and is two touchdowns away from breaking Randy Grossman's (10) record for touchdowns by a Temple tight end.
Clarke and the Owls are set to face Rhode Island in week one of the season on Saturday, September 5 at Lincoln Financial Field. The Owls and Rams will kick off at 2:00 pm on ESPN+.
