Temple, SEPTA Announce Partnership for Free Student Rides for Football Season
9.2.26 | General
PHILADELPHIA - Temple University and SEPTA have partnered to provide Temple students with free SEPTA access between Cecil B. Moore South Station and NRG Station for all Temple football home games this season.
The partnership is designed to provide Temple students with a convenient and affordable way to travel from campus to Lincoln Financial Field and return to campus following each game.
"We are always looking for ways to make it easier for our students to be part of the Temple Athletics experience," said Arthur Johnson, Vice President and Debbie & Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics. "This partnership with SEPTA and our colleagues in Student Affairs removes a barrier for our students and gives them another opportunity to come together, support our football program and experience our games at Lincoln Financial Field."
Temple students will be able to ride the B [Broad Street Line] free of charge on game days. This includes travel from Cecil B. Moore Station to NRG for two hours prior to kickoff and return travel from NRG Station for two hours following the conclusion of the game.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between Temple University and SEPTA to enhance the student experience and make it easier for students to attend and support Temple football throughout the season. Fares are covered by Temple University.
"Some of the most memorable parts of the Temple experience happen when our students come together, build traditions and feel connected to something bigger than themselves," said Jodi Bailey Accavallo, Vice President for Student Affairs. "Temple football gives our students another place to find that sense of community and Owl pride, and we want as many students as possible to be able to participate. This partnership removes the cost and transportation barriers that can make attending a game more difficult and creates an easy connection from Main Campus to Lincoln Financial Field. We are grateful to SEPTA and Temple Athletics for working with us to make game day more accessible, more connected and more distinctly Temple for our students."
Temple students are encouraged to take advantage of the free SEPTA access and join their fellow Owls at Lincoln Financial Field throughout the football season.
"SEPTA is excited to have Temple University fans on board this season," said SEPTA General Manager Scott A. Sauer. "The B offers convenient travel to-and-from campus and Lincoln Financial Field, and thanks to this partnership, the trip will be easier than ever. SEPTA is grateful for this partnership with Temple University, and we'll all be rooting for the Owls!"
Temple head football coach KC Keeler and the Owls open the season at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Sept. 5 against Rhode Island. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. For complete Temple football information, including the 2026 schedule and tickets, visit OwlsSports.com.
