Chase Named to NFF Campbell Trophy Semifinal List

IRVING, Texas - The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame proudly announced today a record 206 semifinalists for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award. Celebrating its 37th year, the Campbell Trophy® recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
Senior wide receiver Colin Chase was the nominee for the Owls in 2026. The overall group is the largest in the history of the award, eclipsing the previous record of 204 set in 2024. Collectively, the semifinalists boast a 3.64 average GPA and include 130 team captains, 24 AllAmericans and 98 players who have already earned their undergraduate degrees.
Prior to the start of Chase's first season as an Owl he was voted as one of Temple's single-digit wearers. This tradition began in 2009 under former head coach Al Golden. Single digits are awarded to Temple's toughest players both on and off the field. They embody what it means to be Temple TUFF. These student-athletes are leaders among their peers and show up with a championship-level mindset every day.
Chase participated in a piece done by ABC that was about water safety. Chase, among with other Temple football players and some Temple cheerleaders joined Ginger Zee at the Jersey Shore and demonstrated safe practices when swimming in the ocean.
Chase currently has 36 hours of service this season. From clean up events, Be the Match, Volunteering at youth camps and local elderly homes.
