HOME OF TEMPLE FIELD HOCKEY AND WOMEN'S LACROSSE
After a year-and-a-half project that was completed in September, 2009, Temple athletic teams have a brand new turf at Geasey Field, a lighted facility at 15th and Norris Streets. The field is now home to one of the largest permanent Astroturf surfaces in the world, covering more than 156,000 square-feet. The turf on the new field, Astroturf12, is popular among field hockey and lacrosse players for the smoothness of its surface and increased speed of players. Astroturf 12 is engineered with a premium knitted nylon system, designed to provide uniform traction and consistent footing. It improves playability when wet and absorbs water to maintain wet conditions. The new surface is completely flat which helps maximize the game for both lacrosse and field hockey. During the 2010 Temple lacrosse season, a brand-new state-of-the-art wireless scoreboard was unveiled, generously donated by Greg and Cherifa Howarth ('98).
