Charlie Cantor enters his second season as Temple’s coordinator of external operations.

A native of New Hyde Park, NY, Cantor joined the Owls after coaching the wide receivers at LIU-C.W. Post in 2012.

For the 2011-12 academic year, Cantor served as the offensive graduate assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State, working with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

Prior to joining Middle Tennessee, Cantor was an assistant recruiting coordinator for Coach Mark Richt at Georgia from 2008 to 2011.  He spear-headed the day-to-day recruiting coordination, and was an integral part of the recruiting efforts that landed Georgia’s “Dream Team” recruiting class of 2011, considered by many to be the top recruiting class in the country.

He also played a big role in coordinating major parts of the Mark Richt Football Camp in Athens.  He oversaw the 7-on-7 Passing League Camps in 2010 and 2011, co-coordinated Mini-Camp and Dawg Night activities in 2008-09-10 before being appointed as head coordinator for the two popular events in 2011.

Before working at Georgia, Cantor spent one year at Rutgers, working as a recruiting assistant from the spring of 2007 through the spring of 2008.

Cantor attended Florida State where he was an honor student while simultaneously earning bachelor’s degrees in two majors, social science education and sports management.  He graduated in 2006, earning Dean’s List honors every semester.  Additional honors included Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society and Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society.

Cantor received his master’s degree sport management from Florida State in 2011.

While at Florida State, Cantor began his football career as a volunteer student manager in 2002.  He became a full-time student manager in 2003. He coached at the Bobby Bowden Football Camp from 2003-2006.  He was a student assistant with tight ends in 2004, then added quarterbacks to his duties the following year.
