Chris Fenelon was hired as Temple’s head strength and condition coach for football in January, 2022.Â
Fenelon came to Temple after finishing his third season as a member of the Ohio State football strength and conditioning staff, having joined the program as an assistant coach in January of 2019. During his time at OSU, the Buckeyes won two Big Ten Championships, and were part of two College Football Playoffs. In 2020, they beat Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, 49-28, before losing to Alabama in the National Championship Game.
A native of Bellerose, N.Y., Fenelon worked three years on the strength staff at Iowa State prior to moving to Ohio State. The Cyclones had some of their finest seasons to date during that time, winning 16 games and recording their highest finish in the Big 12 Conference – third in 2018 – in 40 years. The 2017 team set school records for wins over ranked opponents (three, including Oklahoma) and road wins (five).
Iowa State set records for conference victories in each of the last two seasons and played in a bowl game both seasons, as well.
Prior to his time at ISU, Fenelon interned in the strength and conditioning department with the New York Jets for two seasons. He also worked as a graduate assistant at Toledo in 2014.
Fenelon is a 2013 graduate of Stony Brook, where he lettered three seasons in football. He had 15 receptions for 205 yards and a touchdown with the Seawolves. He earned his master’s in exercise science from East Stroudsburg in 2014.
Fenelon is married to the former Sara Clements, a Temple graduate from Lehighton, Pa. The couple has two children, Julius and Camille.
