Chris Trifone begins his second season at Temple University as a graduate assistant working with the defense.

Led by three-time first-team All-MAC selection DE Adrian Robinson, the Owls’ defense dominated the Mid-American Conference in 2011, leading all teams in five categories while ranking No. 3 nationally in scoring defense.

Linebacker Tahir Whitehead was drafted in the fifth round by Detroit Lions in 2012, one of a school record three Draftees and a school record class of 11 NFL signees. From the defense, DE Morkeith Brown (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), LB Stephen Johnson (New Orleans Saints), and DE Adrian Robinson (Pittsburgh Steelers) signed rookie free agent contracts.

During the 2010 season, Trifone worked as an assistant coach at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He coached the Engineers’ wide receivers and recruited the New England area.

Trifone has also worked as a counselor at the Northeast Clinic football camp for quarterbacks and wide receivers.

A 2010 graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., Trifone was a four-year student-athlete for the Gulls. Earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education, Trifone earned 2009 NEFC Academic All-Conference as a senior. Versatility was an asset for the Cheshire, Conn. native as he played multiple positions for Endicott, including quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback, and defensive end.
