Derek Carr is in his second season as graduate assistant coach for Temple University where he works with the offense.
Carr is reunited with Owls offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield who served as associate head coach at the University of Tennessee-Martin upon Carr’s arrival.
Carr was a three-year captain at UTM where he holds many quarterback records. He holds the marks for career pass attempts (1,110), completions (665), yards (8,428), and TDs (69); and TD passes in a game (7; twice). He set the NCAA mark for passing efficiency at Murray State in 2012 when he completed 42 of 46 passes for 560 yards and 7 TDs.
After his graduation in 2013 with a B.S. degree in university studies, Carr served as a graduate assistant at UTM working with the quarterbacks. The McKenzie, TN, native is an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has spent time working for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
